ZTE Corporation has announced through a press release on their website that they are entering the hand held mobile market with a new high-end HSDPA TD-SCDMA mobile device, the U990. It is the successor to their old but well selling U980 and the U981. The new device sports an amazing transmission speed of 2.8 mbps. The device will run Windows Mobile 6.0, and will feature both EDGE/HSDPA, GPS, and probably the rest of the standard array of hardware available for such devices.
Motorola Q11 Pictures LEAKED!

The Q11 is a much expected smartphone that is soon expected to be coming out from Motorola. Somebody over at Mobility Today has gotten their hands on some photos of the phone, which looks to have a 3 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.1, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and for some reason an off center screen (possibly a fake?). Either follow this link to get an idea of what the phone is expected to look like and get an impression on whether or not you will be spending all that money to buy it or just get the Google phone instead?

HTC Tilt ROM Upgrade (AT-T)

Users of the AT-T version of the HTC Tilt will be happy to know HTC has released an upgraded ROM for them. Featuring Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 and the following application upgrades: HTC Home, Video Share Calling, Threaded SMS, MS Voice Command, OneNote Mobile, Remote Desktop Monitor, Enroll Domain, and Managed Programs. This looks like a sign that HTC will be actively releasing updates for their hardware outside of the carrier scope. Anyone with a Tilt care to post their experience upgrading?

The phone will have a full QWERTY keyboard, large iPhone style touch screen, bluetooth, wifi, and (unofficially) GPS. The Android OS is java based and is openly developed by Google as an open source alternative to platforms such as Windows Mobile and iPhone.
Palm Treo Pro Windows Mobile smartphone leaked!

Somebody over at Palm is not getting a holiday bonus this year. A flash video of the new yet unannounced Palm Treo Pro, also known as the Palm Treo 850w, showed up on the site and someone was lucky enough to grab a quick screenshot of the device and some of it's features before it got pulled. This should be the first Treo to support GSM and UMTS. The phone also unofficially features a QWERTY style keyboard, Windows Mobile Professional 6.1, bluetooth, WiFi, and what seems to be a 320x320 touch screen. Check out the screenshot featuring a detailed diagram of the Palm Treo Pro here. [ Source ]

HTC opens up ROMs

HTC has loosened it's restrictions on accessing newer and better ROMs for their devices. You no longer need to be an e-Club member to be able to download the updated ROMs as long as your HTC device is not carrier locked (meaning you have an unlocked device or one that was not bought from a specific carrier). It would be safe to assume that the e-Club is going to turn into a premium goodies place for HTC customers to download ringtones, themes, and other random jargon. Follow the following link HTC Europe, and check out the support section for ROM updates.
